One tip so you don’t make a mistake that a few people make. The top and the bottom of each of the three pedestals are different. The square pegs are a bit longer on one end than they are on the other end. The longer pegs mate with the LOWER crossbars and the shorter pegs mate with the UPPER crossbars. When you fit the upper crossbars onto the pedestal, the pegs should be flush with the crossbars. If the pegs stick past the crossbars, you have the wrong end of the pedestal. .
