Gray Catbird’s version of a cat mewing. It is unusual for the Catbirds to come out in the open and feed on seeds, but after spending the winter here in Florida these birds are acting a little frisky and starting to head north for the breeding season. Interestingly they don’t sing their colorful songs down here in winter just their cat mew call. They can sing as good as their cousin’s the Mockingbirds but they save that for breeding season up north. In a few more weeks they will mostly be gone from here until next Fall.
