Is stalling or non-start caused by a crank sensor problem❓ Especially a bad crankshaft position sensor but no code issue. No special skills required. Easy DIY
If you are lucky enough to have the EML on (engine management light) then the code (DTC) may well be P033x. A failing crank sensor often shows NO code though.

Something I have noticed from a variety of forums, is that diagnosis of a CKp issue can sometimes be very “hit and miss”. Garages often play “parts darts”, replacing parts at YOUR expense until something solves the problem. This method I’m showing you can instantly tell you if you need to replace the CPk or “eliminate it from enquiries”

This test is for cars without a CAMshaft position sensor, ie a CRANKshaft sensor ONLY (most non Japanese petrol cars).
❗❗ This method cannot be used on cars with both CAMshaft and CRANKshaft sensors ❗❗
ALWAYS check wiring continuity and condition before replacing any electrical parts.
Don’t forget to clear your EML codes once you have fixed any problem. I use Torque Pro app on Android. There is a choice of similar apps, but for the money they are hard to beat. Just using them once is cheaper than a garage doing it for you. You’ll need one of these Bluetooth adapters
